Stop arguments – How to stop arguing and live a happier life
One of the most common reasons for couples breaking up is because of arguments. Arguing may be seen as something that’s normal however it could also put an end to your relationship if you’re not careful. Everyone has experience of arguing in their relationships.
Normally the argument is nothing more than a misunderstanding. However it quickly gets out of hand and turns into a major argument. If you are trying to find out how to stop these arguments then it’s first a good idea to look at exactly why they happen.
You need to identify that there are some problems with your relationship and how you treat your partner. These slight misunderstandings can turn into arguments and it’s important to find out why this is allowed to happen. Debates are very important in relationships and you certainly shouldn’t just lie down and take everything that your partner suggests. The only time that you will experience problems is if you argue over small things which aren’t really that important.
Many couples find that arguments consume their lives and they spend their time going from one argument to the next.
What causes arguments?
This is a difficult one to answer because every couple is slightly different. If you always seem like you have to work very hard on your relationship then this could indicate that something is missing from your relationship. These need to be addressed so that you can live a happier life.
Avoiding Arguments
Anger isn’t good for anyone and it can consume a lot of your energy. Anger can also make you physically ill which is why it’s important to avoid angry feelings as much as possible. Arguments are just one example of anger which you should try to avoid. It can be very difficult to avoid arguments and recovering from them can also be very difficult.
If you say something at the wrong time then this can cause an argument even if it’s true. You need to think about what you are saying and ensuring that it won’t possibly cause offence to your partner.
It might actually be better if you just stop talking and don’t say anything. This will stop an argument very quickly because there is no fuel and so it should fizzle out fairly quickly.
When your partner asks you a question you have to give a soft answer. It’s not just what you say but how you say it. If you’re busy it can be too difficult to give a sharp answer however you must refrain from doing this. Answering in the wrong way even if you don’t mean anything by it can easily cause arguments.
Think of what you are trying to say and take some time before you say it. By thinking about what you want to say you will be able to make sure that your partner will not be upset. Also think about how you are saying it and try to hear your words from the point of view of your partner.
Your partner will still insult you sometimes but it might be a good idea to ignore this. It’s very easy to retaliate when someone insults you; however just forgetting about it will be much easier.
Of course you shouldn’t just lie down and take anything that your partner does to you. If you don’t like something then tell them when you are both calm. Just don’t risk causing an argument by shouting about it.
The most important thing is to be willing to admit that you are wrong. If you truly believe that it is your fault then tell them that you are sorry and start repairing your relationship.
Every relationship is different but most are very special. If your relationship is worth fighting for then you can make your life much more comfortable by stopping arguments.
