My swimsuit advice is for the full figured lady.  I know a lot of you wouldn’t be caught dead at a public pool or water park. Well, I say ladies you can look good and have fun in the water at the same time. It’s all in the attitude this goes for when your just out and about, on the job, or visting your child’s school etc. Hold your head up high and walk straight if ever one see’s you that confidence it just makes you glow. Even if your not confident just try it sometime and you will notice a difference in your mood, and you might even get some looks  “like who is she” LOL you know what I mean. With that being said I think the best look for pool side or in the pool for women with curves are swimsuits with a skirt or a tankini with a skirt. It hides the hips and the cellulite. Also, I have to say that if you are comfortable with a one piece that shows your hips go for it. I just know that a cute flirty skirt can look really good with also hiding “flaws”. My other suggestion is to look for swimsuits or swim seperates that are sold are if there is a print the print should be a minimum of two colors in the print. My other suggestion to wear with your swimsuit besides your cute cover up is sunscreen. Everyone should wear sunscreen year round, but especially when your going to be outside for prolonged periods of time. You should have an SPF of 30 or higher. EVERYONE can get sun cancer, and 1 million cases of skin cancer are diagnosed in the United States alone every year. So remember wear your sunscreen.

I have some pictures of some pretty cute swimwear. The companies are Fashion bug, Lane bryant, and One stop plus.  I tried to pick out things that are cute and not too pricey, because I have seen other fashion blogs that put up expensive stuff. I’m thinking to myself the average person can’t afford to pay $200 and over for shoes, come on! I’ll save the expensive stuff for my dream post, which I already have ideas on, but for now let’s deal with reality shall we?

Okay this is from Lane Bryant and yes it doesn’t have a flirty skirt, but it still camoflages the hips nicely. Plus, I love, love, love retro swimsuits. This suit is all things to all people for top heavy women you can show off without showing too much, and for women with less top going on you have the padded bra to fill you out. Time less suit, great investment!

This black pair is stunning, still a classic look like the first swimsuit, but it’s going to make a big impact on how it looks with your curves. The little slit on the side of the skirt looks like it would be comfortable to walk around in too.  With a top heavy gal I would make sure I’m getting the right size with this one.

This beauty is around a hundred dollars I think, but one stop always has coupons and their stuff goes on clearance pretty quickly. This one is perfect if you don’t want to show too much cleavage plus camoflaging the hips. I don’t think I would reccomend this one to my less than top heavy women, it will probably be covering too much making you look like you have nothing there.

The black romper cover up is gawgeous, remember ladies if you wear this one  by it self please have on a good bra that fits so that you don’t come undone.  The cover up with the v-neck is so perfect for the pool if your not by the pool and want to wear this one out and about, you could rock this with capri leggings and a tank underneath.  The last swimsuit picture I have here is for my ladies who are not top heavy, but have hips you want to cover. This swimsuit is so cute with the tie at the bustline.

 Hairstyles

I love looking at Hairstyles. It’s amazing what you can do with hair, and what a difference they can make in a person’s apperance. First off let me say I am not the biggest fan of long hair on a man, and I especially don’t like when a man is bald in the front and growing long hair in the back. I am also not a big advocate for relaxers and weaves in African American women hair. Okay, I know there a lots of men with long hair that’s their choice I’m not going to go up to them and put them down or something like that I just prefer a man with a haircut. As for African American women that wear relaxers that’s clearly a health issue.  and check here too. If you do chose to wear relaxers it’s your choice. I just like to inform people. As far as weaves it’s just a personal choice with me that I wouldn’t wear them.

Now that I’m finished with my rant. Check out these hairstyles that are perfect for the summer if you have long, short, or medium hair. Also, I tried my best to get different hair types in here(no relaxers though, HA). If you want to include links in your comments, please do.  Here they are:

Here are some videos that I’ve found that are fun to look at and you might want to even try out some of the styles.

These videos are of some very creative hair styles for Asian Males and Females. I’m not sure that maybe some folks would try some of them, but maybe you could modify the style to suit your taste.

Here’s a video with directions on how to do Bantu knots. I would suggest if your hair is straight or wavy you might want to use bobby pins, rubber bands, and styling cream.

This video is another instructional video that you could follow and get the look she is showing.  Any hair type could achieve this look even though it’s African American texture hair. It’s just simple buns, but you would have to have some length for these bun looks in the video.  However, there are some videos on how to do buns with short hair on youtube you could check out on your own. Click on the link for the video:

Guide to doing buns

Here’s the Bubble gum princess doing flat twist on her hair. Although, on this video this is straight hair anyone could achieve this look on various length hair.  Check it out ladies:

Here’s a video of various loc hairstyles.  If you have some imagination you could probably pull off some of these styles on different texture hair too. I must say though that on some of the styles in this video look really really tight( ouch). You of course don’t have to do them so tight, or maybe it’s just me and they aren’t tight you can see for yourself:

I hope everyone that checks out this blog can enjoy the videos and pictures or try the styles out. Also, I wanted to say some of the stuff I blogged about in the full figure swimsuits could apply to smaller body types too. Remember, have confidence with whatever swimsuit or hairstyle you have and smile; having swagger and being happy are two things you don’t have to pay for that can make anyone handsome or beautiful. A B C ya!
